Jasmin Bhasin debuted into filmdom with Tamil film ‘Vaanam’, a remake of Telugu film ‘Vedam’. However, even before that, she had been part of the glamour industry working as a model for several print and video advertisements.
“I love both the worlds but acting is more challenging. Modelling is about doing things in seconds. But when you act, it’s not easy to portray varied emotions,” says the actress whose Telugu film ‘Ladies & Gentlemen’ hit the screens on Friday.
Interestingly, she plays a model who is an upcoming actress in the film. “I related to the character as I am an actress too. However, the script was something else… it was totally different from what I have gone through and it took some effort to relate to it.”
Jasmin, born and brought up in Kota, Rajasthan, says though she hasn’t been signing many films, the “journey has been great”. “Though I would love to be a part of some big films, I am very happy about all the films I have done till now,” she says.
When quizzed if we will get to see more of her soon, she is quick to reply, “I have a Tamil film ‘Ratnavel Pandyan’ due for release but in Telugu there’s nothing yet. I was waiting for the release of ‘Ladies & Gentlemen’ before signing anything new.”
On a parting note, Jasmin tells us that she may not be on a signing spree but she is “definitely here to stay.”
