Just as Megastar’s 150th film is now official. But, it is embroiled in a controversy! US-based writer Dev Varma has claimed that the story of the film, said to be written by Ravi, is, in fact, his body of work and that he had also registered it too. “I started writing the script in 2011. In fact, I narrated the script to Krishnam Raju who really liked it and showed interest to produce it with Prabhas as a part of it.

But, things did not work out after a series of events when there was a consideration of making the film a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with A R Murugadoss involving in the process.” said Dev, when we contacted him. He claims to have also registered his script with both the Film Writers’ Association of India and the AP Film Writers Association.

When quizzed how he came to know that the script narrated to Ravi was similar to the one he had written, he shared, “Actor Subbaraju is a good friend and I visited him last November when I was in India. It was then that Ravi came to meet the actor and he happened to share the storyline with them.” Dev said he was shocked when he heard it.

“Not only was it similar to my story but the title I wanted to give it – ‘Oka Adugu’ – was what Ravi had in mind. “I didn’t immediately react but tried to negotiate with him later. While he maintained that the script wasn’t similar to mine, it reached a point where he foul mouthed me,” he claimed. When we asked B V S Ravi for a comment on the above, he replied, “I have spoken to him and told him that this script has nothing to do with his story. I don’t want to say any more.”
