Tanya HopeMiss India contestant Tanya Hope is set to make her Telugu debut in Nara Rohit’s film ‘Appatlo Okadundevadu’. The Miss Kolkata (2015) will be seen as the leading lady in the romantic thriller which is being directed by Sagar Chandra. The makers found her profile to be interesting enough and called her for the audition. They subsequently zeroed in on her.

Sharing details on how she landed up in the offer, Tanya says, “After participating in the Miss India show in March, I never had any filmy plans. But my friends and well wishers encouraged me to pursue a career in showbiz. So I came to Mumbai and took up acting and dance classes. In July, director Sagar Chandra saw my pictures and auditioned me for the film. They were pleased with my performance and then I was signed on. I never wanted to be an actress, but it’s the destiny that brought me here, it just happened (smiles).”

On her role, she says, “I play a village belle who is very strong and independent. I will be seen in saris, half-saris. Quite ironically, I wore bindi for the first time. Initially, I thought it would look funny but later when I saw it on the monitor, it felt nice,” she explains. “Before the start of the shoot, I wasn’t sure whether acting was my cup of tea. Now, I am having a gala time. Everyone is so supportive on the sets.” The former model will also be seen in a cameo in the romantic entertainer ‘Nenu Sailaja’, starring Ram and Keerthi Suresh.
