Close on the heels of launching his yet-untitled film with SJ Suryah, Powerstar, we hear has finally given his nod of approval for the much talked about ‘Vedalam’ remake (He recently said he was approached to star in the film).

At a time when everybody was guessing on who would helm the action drama, word on the street is that the actor has decided to handover the directorial reigns of the film to Tamil director RT Neason (‘Jilla’ fame).

A source close to the actor reveals, “Pawan has been contemplating to star in the Telugu remake of ‘Vedalam’ for quite some time. He felt the storyline of the revenge drama would go down well with his image and his scores of fans and believed in Neason’s skills to do justice to the script. The director is presently tailoring the script to suit Telugu sensibilities.”

AM Ratnam, who produced the original, is likely to bankroll the Telugu version too and the pre-production work is also underway. It would be interesting to see whether Pawan shoots for the two new projects simultaneously.
