Case booked against chemist for polygamy

A case has been lodged against a 37-year-old chemist by the Tukaramgate police on Monday, on charges of fraudulently marrying five women and usurping money, gold and property by blackmailing them with objectionable pictures. According to police sources, Sreekanth, a native of Hanamkonda was staying for a couple of years in the city at different places.

He married several women in the past and recently married a woman of Tukaramgate. “He used to click pictures of women with his phone and threatened them to upload the ‘obscene’ pictures online,” the cops said. Suspecting something amiss, the resident of Tukaramgate lodged a complaint with the Tukaramgate police. Investigations revealed that the suspect had already married five women illegally, apart from the recent complainant.
