​Palvancha: An auto-rickshaw driver and two others were apprehended and two teak blocks, worth Rs 20,000, were recovered from them.
According to Forest officer Ramakanth, upon suspicion, the patrolling team chased the auto-rickshaw from Nagaram. The vehicle turned turtle at Natraj Centre as the auto driver lost control over the vehicle in an attempt to escape.
The driver and other two members in the auto suffered mild injuries and were shifted to government hospital for treatment. It came to be known that the auto driver, Kondal and his wife, Sushila were in the illegal business for a short period now.
A person named Rambabu informed that Kondal has been paying him Rs 600 per day as wage. He also said that Kondal claimed to have good relations with police department. Police said a case was registered and blocks were shifted to depot.
