Hyderabad: Even two months after the first Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) for Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) posts in various departments, the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is yet to shortlist candidates for interviews.
According to the GO MS 8 issued by the government, candidates whose annual income is over Rs 6 lakh per annum would be considered as creamy layer and would not be eligible for reservations. Going by the GO, the TSPSC also incorporated the creamy layer in its notification.
However, Telangana BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna announced that the government would put GO MS 8 under abeyance. Meanwhile, the mandal revenue offices refuse to issue creamy layer certificates to the candidates saying that there is no clarity on the issue. This ambiguity lead to delay in the recruitment process of TSPSC and also other corporations, officials said.
The BC Welfare Department had written a letter to the General Administration Department (GAD) for extending it to all candidates and the GAD, in turn, wrote to the Legal department. A senior official of BC Welfare Department said now matter is pending with the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and decision would be taken soon. It is learnt that the government intends to give reservation for all irrespective of their income.
