Maulana Azad National Urdu University Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz paid rich tributes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, who passed away this morning at the age of 79 years.
Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz paid rich tributes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, who passed away this morning at the age of 79 years.
Dr Parvaiz describing Mufti Sayeed as a farsighted veteran in politics said that it would be difficult to fill the vacuum left behind by the demise of Mufti Sayeed.
He said that MANUU is in the process of building its campus in Budgam while it already runs an Arts and Science College for Women and College of Teacher Education in Srinagar. MANUU has a Regional Centre, a Sub-Regional Centre and 15 Study Centres for students of Distance Education mode. The University also provides education to a large number of students from Jammu & Kashmiri at its Headquarters in Hyderabad. "Mufti Sayeed was a great visionary who had worked tirelessly for the uplift of his people," the Vice-Chancellor said.
MANUU VC institutes enquiry into October incidents at campus
Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz has instituted inquiry into the incidents that took place between October 10 and 15 at the campus.
The inquiry which will be conducted by honourable Judge (Rtd.) Mohammad Farooq Omar is likely to start on January 12 at the University Guest House and will be completed in two weeks.
All members of MANUU community that is students, teachers and non-teaching staff have been requested to cooperate with the one-man enquiry commission. Those who wish to repose before the commission shall respond whenever they are called. They are also to requested provide documents, evidences and witnesses they are asked for.
Those who were affected, in any way, "during that period of turmoil" must remain available during University working hours from the initiation to completion of enquiry." No submissions will be accepted after the completion of the enquiry.
Foundation Day Lecture Today at MANUU
Hyderabad: Prof. Anwar Moazzam, Former Head, Dept. of Islamic Studies will deliver Foundation Day Lecture on "Maulana Azad's Idea of India".
The lecture will be held on 8th January 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at DDE Auditorium, Maulana Azad National Urdu University Campus. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor will preside over the function.
