GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar informed that Mir Alam Tank will be developed on the lines of Hussain Sagar Lake and will be a gift for the people residing in Old City. The Commissioner said that the tank would be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crore.
The Commissioner along with senior officials of the engineering, town planning and urban biodiversity wing inspected the Mir Alam Tank on Thursday.

In the first phase, the GHMC will take up works for Rs 10 crore which includes protection of lake, entry plaza, walking and cycling tracks, tree plantation, theme parks, landscaping, island improvement, boating, fountains, illuminations, water quality improvement measures etc, along the entire stretch of the Mir Alam Tank and this would be completed in a span of about 3 months.
