New courses for the academic year

With new academic year all set to begin next month, educational institutions in the city have geared up to attract students by announcing a few new graduation programmes for the year 2015-16. Not only are they acquiring permissions for introducing new courses but are also signing memoranda with private companies to foray into student placements.

Of late, the city which was deprived of national level institutes and facilities is now largely dependent of the in-house institutions which offer complete college education from Intermediate to Post Graduation.

The Andhra Loyola College, which is one of the oldest and most reputed college known for introducing job-oriented courses with a fusion of literature and science, has come up with two new courses for the academic year. The first one includes journalism and animation with English literature under the Bachelor of Arts. The second has film making and advertising in Bachelor of Sciences.

College principal Fr GAP Kishore said, “The new courses will enable our students stand in a better place in the industry. Courses like visual communication, journalism, advertising and film making are unique and new to the city.”

PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College has come up with an exclusive computer applications and accounts and finance in B.Com. Another job-oriented course in B. Sc honors in computer science has been introduced for this academic year.

A course in B.Com banking and insurance has been added at the SDM Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala along with commerce and business management, marketing management and computers. College principal T Vijaya Lakshmi said that the college management has major diversifications in commerce discipline for the students who want to excel in that path.
