Hyderabad: Stating that he was not thinking TDP leader E Dayakar Rao’s entry into TRS as a political defection, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday described the event as the unification of Telangana political forces.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the party joining event of TDP MLA E Dayakar Rao, Congress leader Basawaraj Saraiah and other leaders from Warangal district into TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.
Rao said he was not seeing Dayakar Rao’s entry into TRS as ‘chillara mallara’ politics and stressed he was uniting all sections which were once stood for state formation and now for the development of Telangana. “Unhindered development of the State is possible only when this unification is completed. This is why leaders from different political parties are joining TRS," he explained.
The Chief Minister said the plans for the development of Warangal were ready and assured to provide Rs 300 crore annual budget grant to the district. Besides the budget allocations, the irrigation development plans for the district are also in pipeline, he stated. “Once Kaleshwaram project is completed, Warangal would get water for two crops in a year.
This could happen within two years and Warangal will be like West Godavari, where people will have water for two crops,” he exhorted. The Chief Minister blasted the previous governments for ignoring the development of this region. “Many had said many things that about the development of Telangana.
But even today the Dalits, Tribals, Muslims and Christians of this region feel there is not much change in their lives and even the Brahmins too say that their conditions are miserable. Even today, during the time of severe drought, about 2,000 TMC of water is getting wasted into the sea,” he averred.
Speaking on this occasion, E Dayakar Rao said there was no scope for Telugu Desam party in Telangana and its president N Chandrababu Naidu had already stopped taking care of the party. People of the State want leadership of KCR and they would support development of Telangana, he added.
