Bishnu Pal, a professor of natural science at Mahindra Ecole Centrale College of Engineering, has been recognised for his contribution to Optical Science and Engineering by The Optical Society (OSA), a leading professional association in optics and photonics, home to accomplished science, engineering, and business leaders from all over the world.
The OSA has awarded the professor an Esther Hoffman Beller Medal which recognises outstanding contributions to optical science and engineering education. The professor is being recognised for over thirty-five years of guided wave photonics education,
including the development of graduate and continuing education teaching programs and laboratories in optoelectronics and optical communications at IIT-Delhi, and inspiring a generation of leading academic and industrial scientists.
