Elephant Asha turns 44
Asha, one of the five elephants at the Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) turned 44 on Thursday. As per the tradition at the zoo of celebrating the birthdays of all animals, Asha’s birthday was celebrated by cutting a cake and a few lucky visitors, especially children were made to take part in the party. V V L Subhadra Devi who recently took charge as the curator served sugarcane and bananas to the elephant. M A Gaffar, Junior Veterinary Officer, NZP, Sirisha, Veterinary Asst.Surgeon, H M Hanifulla, PRO/ZEO, M Sandeep, wildlife biologist and mahouts took part in the birthday party.
