Dr Radha Rani was on veena and Sindhuja a young student of Bandi Shyamala presented ‘Vandeham’ in Hamsadhwani. Her mellifluous voice enthralled the audience.

"Bhavayami Raghuramam" in Ragamalika was apt as it unfolded the story of Rama with salient episodes. Patnam Subrahmanyam Iyer composed the next piece, this composition in Shanmukhapriya Raagam gave scope to the singer to render Nerval and embellish with Swarakalpana.

"Ani Mantramulu" in Amrutavarshini composed by Annamacharya was the last song competently rounding off the kutcheri. Mrityunjay Sarma and Sita Lakshmi Prasad hailing from the ancient Kuchipudi lineage of the renowned Pasumarthi family presented a scintillating Kuchipudi recital.

The duo of cousins was well-matched and held the large audience's attention. The Ramayana Sabdam consisted of thrilling jatis and statuesque poses embedded to the Vempati style. A piece on Goddess Durga,

"Jaya Jaya Durge" was outstanding, the demon Mahishasura portrayed to the life by Mrityunjay while Sita Lakshmi enacted the role of the angry Goddess in a spectacular climax to slay the demon as she placed her feet with split-second precision and timing to make splendid tableaux. Gudipoodi Srihari, senior journalist and art critic felicitated the artistes.
