Kaivallya Dasu’s debut novel ‘Enchantress of Elektra’ was released by novelist and columnist Sriram Karri in the city recently. The novel is all about 24-year-old dark magicianm Ente von Ino Lock, who usurps the kingdom of Elektra, determined to outdo his rival, Rulut. Four years later, the former princess, 13-year-old Kerryl Violette Royale, a strong magician herself, returns to challenge Ente in a bid to win back her family’s kingdom.
An avid reader, sixteen-year-old Kaivallya has a passion for writing and she can be usually found either at the computer writing a new story, or curled up in a chair reading a book. Kaivallya also enjoys drawing and loves to sing; she is currently learning Carnatic vocal music.
Following the book launch, a workshop ‘Writing the dark side: How to build a supervillain’ was conducted for children by Achala Upendran, who is a consulting editor and writer. She writes regularly on fantasy, comic, and superhero movies and books on her blog,
