Bhadrachalam: TDP politburo member Sandra Venkata Veeraiah on Thursday demanded CBI probe into the government lands registration scandal.

Addressing the media, he said the whole scam came to light after registering 500 acres of government land and some persons got 800 acres registered in their name.

He demanded the State government to make public the names of land sharks and wanted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to seek CBI probe into the scam.

The then Deputy Chief Minister, Rajaiah, was removed from the State cabinet when allegations surfaced against him. No chance was given to him to plead his case.

But, the government’s silence to make public the names of bigwigs in the scandal was a sure pointer of the involvement of some crucial people in the government.

The government was trying to sweep the issue under the carpet, making a few government officials scapegoats awarding nominal punishment to them, he alleged, seeking probe into the alleged role of the bigwigs in the CMO in the murky affair.

He sought comprehensive probe into the land deals that had taken place in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts after the TRS government came to power.

Stating that in Rayadurg the rate of one acre is about Rs 42 crore, he accusing the land sharks of registering such precious lands through backdoor methods. He said the people were growing impatient over the Chief Minister’s ‘tolerating’ activities of the nefarious elements.

Saying that such incidents happening in Telangana, which was the result of the sacrifices by many, is very sad, he demanded comprehensive probe into the scandal.

District TDP president Tulluri Brahmaiah has asked the party leaders to hoist national flag on the occasion of State Formation Day on Friday. During its three years rule, the TRS government betrayed people on development in all sectors, he criticised.

TDP district leader Koleti Bhavani Shankar, Komaram Phaneeswaramma, Kodali Srinivasan and others were present at the media conference.
