Nizamabad: Farmers Joint Action Committee (FJAC) demanded the State government for paying compensation according to Land Acquisition Act-2013, to the displaced people of Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Speaking to the media at CPM office here on Wednesday, they asked the government to gather public opinion by conducting meetings in villages rather than at district headquarters.
The FJAC urged the Public Enquiry Commission to pay compensation thrice the market value to those, who have foregone their lands. They also demanded, “Land for land under the ayacut. Two acres for SC/ST farmers, subsistence allowance of Rs 2,000 for a period of two years for those above 18 years, and compensation of Rs 8 lakh and rehabilitation to every family of various vocations and NREGS labourers.”
Bhunirvasitula Committee district convener Pedda Venkata Ramulu, Akhila Bharata Rytu Kulila Sangham state secretary V Prabhakar, district secretary P Rama Krishna, Telangana Rytu Sangam district secretaries M Gangadharappa and A Rajeswar, Telangana Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham district president Bhaskar, leaders CH Sai Goud, Akula Papaiah and others were present.
