Lal Krishna Mitta, a 22- year-old Electrical Engineering graduate found his calling in writing. He left his job to write poetry. Passionate about philosophy and mysticism, he spoke to Hyderabad Hans about his book and more.

LalKrishnaMittaWhat inspired you to take up writing?

I think it’s better to say writing chose me than saying I chose writing . I felt it as a personal call. I was always interested in philosophy felt alive whenever I used to write poetry. This alone gave convinced me that I should take up writing.

What prompted you to quit your job?

I used to work in a KPO, Advansoft, but unfortunately it lasted only for a month as the job seemed quite boring for me. Even when I was working, I used to write poems but took it full time only after quitting the job.

Who are your favourite authors?

I was never an ardent reader, but I lo v e to say Franz Kafka has been my all time favorite. Apart from him I read Laotzu, Sisiro, Khalil Gibran. But I love works of my guru Thanikella Bharani and my mentor Soubaghya.

What is the inspiration behind writing the book?

Nature has always been my inspiration. It is mystic and beauty of nature lies in the way we unfold the mysteries. I took up my poetry as a way to relish the beauty of nature by unfolding its mysteries. I followed my instincts, and believed in certain aspects of the nature which I tried to explain in my own way.

Mirror_3D-coverWhat is your book all about?

Mirror – Between me and I, is a psychological thriller blended with mysticism. It deals with various problems that the youth are bat tling with. It also deals with the basic question i.e., What is the purpose of life?

What is the metaphor of Mirrior- Between Me and I?

The metaphor of the book can be “this world runs on the basic principles of duality and balancing”

Tell us about the character Gopal? Is it related to your life?

The character of Gopal looks to be lucid as just an ordinary boy living in the world of dreams as he cannot take taste the bitterness of reality. Gopal serves as the ambassador to the complexities hidden in everyone. But when one delves deeper, they understand that Gopal’s character is highly complex. Gopal is not related to my life. The book is a pure work of fiction.

Who is your favourite character in the book and why?

All characters in the book are my favourite characters . Gopal re presents the complexities within every boy and girl living in the present day. The Monk and Tarakesh explain the secret of the world and nature. What is next book about? I am working on my next project ‘Searching or Waiting??- F or Love. It’s a different kind of love story that delves deep into relations. After that I am heavily packed with 13 stories and will be working on them.
