The rooftop of Radisson Blu comes alive during the evening, with the blue of the pool, the bar on one side, the buzz of the live kitchen throwing up the appetizing aromas of freshly baked cakes and the aromas of the grills and the ambient lighting creating a beautiful mood. Chama Guacha, the rooftop restaurant at Radisson Blu hotel is probably the only Brazilian restaurant in the city, but also has Lebanese dishes on its menu to offer variety.
The new menu launched at Chama Gaucha recently adds some interesting dishes, and as the Caesar salad on the appetizer menu is named - ‘Not So Classical’ – it’s not all about authenticity, yet Brazilian enough. The standard part of the menu here is the bread platter that includes the yummy Pide bread dotted with sesame and the signature Brazilian Cheese bread using Parmesan cheese – Pao de Queijo with home-made dips like the Peri Peri butter and Herb Butter.
On the Lebanese end is Mezze with Pita bread that is soft and just the way it should be in order to go with the delicious Hummus, Labneh and Motabel and stamped with the logo of Chama Gaucha – well that is one nice touch. Look out for the house salad that offers mix of textures and tastes that make for a hearty salad – greens, fruits, pine nuts and melon seeds served with berry reduction.
Taking forward the choice of appetizers, which is good, one can also try the cilantro rice and cheese balls served with Herb sauce, the well-marinated and grilled to perfection Chicken shish touk, Herb spiced chicken fritters, served with roasted garlic chipotle mayo (also called the Coxinha de Frango) and Fried Camaroes (crispy panko crusted golden prawns with orange aioli).
The Brazilian trail continues into the Entrée menu with the Churrasco style of Brazilian barbeques. Pizzas, pasta and burgers too have their share of the tastes from the Latin American country. To top up the dining experience is the beverage menu with innovatively named drinks like the ‘Suffering Bachelors’ – a combo of vodka, gin, white rum, lemon juice, ginger ale served in a huge serving jar and ‘Grande Bastardo’. With all its trappings Chama Guacha is indeed the place to enjoy a cool monsoon evening, and go Braaaziiilll…
