Sangareddy: From the times of punishing the farmers for failing to pay the taxes to the times of government supporting the farmers with crop investment of Rs. 8,000 per annum, the present times in the TRS reign, we are witnessing the golden times for the farming sector in the state, said the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao in Sangareddy district while distributing the Rythu Bandhu cheques and Passbooks to the farmers of Chidruppa village in Kandi mandal on the second day of the implementation of the scheme at their doorstep.

Terming the TRS government as the only one in the country to dare to take up purification of revenue land records in a record span of time and implementation of crop investment support scheme, the minister reiterated that the scheme would be continued in future ever without any apprehensions.

At Chidruppa village, 804 peasants were awarded Rs. 63.07 lakh worth cheques for total 1577 acres of agriculture land holding. Assuring the construction of Mahila Bhavan with the expenditure of Rs. 15 lakh at the village as the village sarpanch asked for, the Minister sanctioned a check dam across Chinna Vaagu for the elated villagers and ordered the collector to allot the housing plots for the eligible beneficiaries in the village within a month.

The collector said Rythu Bandhu Scheme was solely intended for the upliftment of the farmers. MLA C Prabhakar noted that the financial assistance to the tillers was a appreciable programme to support the debt-burden farmers.

Joint Collector Nikhila, District Rythu Samnvaya Samithi chairman Venkat Ram Reddy, Granthalaya Samstha Chairman Narahari Reddy and CDC Chairman Vijayendar Reddy, Mother and child Welfare Department Organiser Laxmi and others participated in the jubilant program.

The Irrigation and marketing Minister also participated in the distribution of RBS in a few villages including Maddikunta Village of Sadashivapet mandal and also inaugurated Gram Panchayat office there.
