Cheques distributed to 145 farmers

Maheshwaram: Local MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy on Wednesday handed over pattadar passbooks and cheques to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme at Mallapur and Venkatpuram villages of Balapur mandal. The legislator handed over cheques worth Rs 9, 11,000 to 145 farmers.

It was a dream come true for S Yadaiah who received a cheque. He said, “We have been hearing about the scheme for quite some time and are extremely happy that the government has come to the rescue of farmers.”

In some cases, the farmers said that when their names are written in English, it is changing. We are having some trouble with bankers. The government authorities have been disbursing cheques to farmers in the last few days. Chairman Narasimha Reddy, Market Committee Director Jagan Reddy, Rythu Samanvaya Samithi president Pawan Kumar were present.
