Hyderabad : About 20 members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC) burnt the Congress party's manifesto papers and effigy of PC Chacko, a spokesperson of AICC, for his alleged remarks on Telangana issue on Sunday. Later, they were arrested when they tried to lay siege to Gandhi Bhavan.

Lashing out at PC Chacko, Krishank Manne, a member of OU JAC, demanded the spokesperson to withdraw his remarks and apologise to Telangana people for hurting their sentiments. He also demanded leaders of Telangana to realise the situation and act as per the aspirations of people from the region.

Three students received minor injuries when police obstructed them from climbing the walls of the Gandhi Bhavan. The arrested members were sent to Abids police station. Later, they were released. Members Sai Prasad, Nikhil, and others participated in the protest programme.
