First conceptualised as the Bhimsen Joshi Festival, it got institutionalised as an Annual National Festival of Music and Dance in Hyderabad.

First conceptualised as the Bhimsen Joshi Festival, it got institutionalised as an Annual National Festival of Music and Dance in Hyderabad.
Mohan Hemmadi, chairman, Suranjali Foundation, said, “Bharat Ratna awardee late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi is an international figure with followers spread all over the world. To show our gratitude and honour to this great heavenly soul, we initiated a festival dedicated to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi in the city in 2012. This year the festival is being organised with the proactive patronage and support from Telangana Tourism, TATA Capital, DD Bharati, SBH and Andhra Bank. Stalwarts in classical music will hold a live performance at the three-day programme.
