The police have cordoned off the area.
According to The Age, a white SUV mowed down a number of people at a busy intersection of Flinders and Elizabeth streets in Melbourne">Melbourne's CBD. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.
The Melbourne">Melbourne Police have arrested the driver and are further investigating terrorism angle into the incident as an officer at the scene described it as a terrorist incident. However, it has not been confirmed so far if the driver had terror motive.
The car was not travelling at high speed when crashed, said the police.
