Dosa perhaps the most discussed and demanded of menus in Indian breakfast. This otherwise routine item on breakfast menu, has been serving the foodies all over. According to an online news portal, dosa is one the 10 items in ‘try before you die’ list. Of late dosa is seen in various avatars. They are adorned with swanky looks at five star restaurants, while the hawkers have their secret ingredient. Here is the list of few dosa points in city, one should try out:

Pragati’s surprise
Taking its name from, Pragati Maha Vidyalaya College, which falls on the other side of the food point, Pragati Tiffins offers lot more items in their menu than just dosa. But it’s the surfeit of dosa they offer; make foodies shout ‘one more’. Butter-paneer dosa, butter-onion dosa, masala dosa, so on, at Rs 35 is the best you would get to buy.
Offering a twist to otherwise traditional menu; the dosas here come with a generous sprinkling of grated paneer and loads of butter.
Govind’s gust
Charminar, an ideal destination for pearls, bangles and mouth watering biryani, houses the Govind’s parlour, in the lane left to Charminar.
Often one would see a long queue of dosa lovers from 6am to 1pm waiting patiently for their turn. Dosa batter smeared on tawa on which upma, butter, chopped onions are spread.

Ram’s Dosa Bandi
Dosa is one such item that has a 24-hour demand. Heeding to the demand, Ram operates his Dosa Bandi from 3am to 8am. Targeting the early birds, morning walkers and employees of ITES who finish their shift, the Dosa Bandi is thronged by people.
The location of the bandi, opposite to the Karachi Bakery is an added advantage. This has now become a rage among morning walkers and BPO employees.
The USP of this dosa point is the variety of dosas they offer, one get to see some unsual varieties too. The crisp dosa here has, a sprinkle of chilli powder, a generous dollop of upma, a spread of ginger and garlic paste, chopped onions, a layer of desi cheese and butter. The cheese dosa is their star item in the dosa menu, costs you Rs 50. For a more economical option, go for butter dosa which is Rs 35.

Laxman Bhai’s delight
This has been the Mecca for dosa lovers in Hyderabad. The red-hot-chili-peppered upma dosa, or the paneer and butter dosa are indeed a very intense palate tip. The place gets its name from the vicar of dosa in Moazzamjahi Market, the Laxman Bhai.
He does not charge you until you show visible signs of craving for more (serious drooling), and if you look satisfied, the upma dosa and paneer dosa will be for 35 bucks and the butter dosa will be charged Rs 30.
Cycle dosa parlours at IMAX and Abids
We have seen them every day but might have not noticed. From 4.30am to 8am, one would see people selling dosas on cycle. For Rs 10 you would get a thick small dosa with slightly tangy ground nut chutney.
Catering for low-income group, this dosa cycles have a consistent crowd. Though not hot, as they are prepared over night they do taste good.
