Nalgonda: In two separate incidents, the police arrested three dacoits on Saturday and seized gold worth Rs. 8.5 lakh from one burglar and medicine kits worth Rs. 5 lakh from two others apart from a DCM van here on Saturday. Police nabbed a daylight burglar Biram Narendar Reddy aka Naresh Reddy of Taduru village in Uppunutala mandal in Mahbubnagar district and seized gold ornaments worth Rs. 8.5 lakh from his possession.
District superintendent of police Prabhakar Rao talking to newsmen said that Narendar Reddy, a habitual offender since 2006, has been into burgling the houses during day time. The accused mainly targets the locked houses, he added.
The accused had burgled houses at Dindi, Chintapalli and Nampalli mandals in Nalgonda district and Keshampet and Vanguru in Mahbubnagar district. Earlier also, he was arrested for the burglaries in Marriguda, Chintapalli, Midgil, Bijinepalli in Nalgonda district and was released on bail.
Nampalli CI Sivaram Reddy and Chintapalli SI Dhanunjay were present. The police had also arrested two persons who steal valuable material from the stationary vehicles during night time on the national highway. The SP said that David Paul Choubey and R Santosh of Chennai have stolen medicine kits worth Rs. 5 lakh from a stationary lorry near Vadaparthy in Bhuvanagiri mandal in August.
Rural CVI Narendar Goud during a routine check stopped a DCM van and the van driver left the vehicles and made good his escape. The police found the two accused in the van who confessed to the crime of stealing medicine kits. The police seized the DCM van also.
