Anna on fast for Lokpal Bill from today

Ralegan Sidhi: Accusing the Centre of "betrayal" and going back on its promise on Jan Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare said on Monday that he would sit on an indefinite hunger strike here from Tuesday, demanding passage of the anti-graft law in Parliament. He observed that one of the major reasons for the Congress debacle was its failure to get the Jan Lokpal Bill passed.

"Congress betrayed the people who responded appropriately," he said. If the Prime Minister can assure passage of the Communal Violence Bill in Parliament, why could not he do the same in the case of Lok Pal Bill, he criticised.
