Six Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Cadres Nabbed in Assam, Six more cadres of Islamic extremist group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JM) were nabbed by security forces in Assam’s Chirang district on Thursday night, police said on Friday.
Guwahati: Six more cadres of Islamic extremist group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JM) were nabbed by security forces in Assam’s Chirang district on Thursday night, police said on Friday.
Following a tip-off, police led by BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi had launched operation at a remote area in the lower Assam district and nabbed six jehadi.
The nabbed JM cadres were identified as Md Soleman Ali, Md Hanifuddin, Md Nur Hussain, Md Habijur Ali, Md Mustafa Mondal and Md Molek Sheikh.
Security forces recovered two country made AK-47 rifle, two nos barrel, three mobile phones.
In past two weeks, security forces had apprehended a total of 10 JM cadres and busted a training camp in the lower Assam district so far.
“Police had recovered 10 country made AK-47 rifle, two country made Insas rifle, 28 pairs army uniform, 12 pairs hunting shoe, 12 nos cap, 12 nos belt, 12 pairs anklets in possession from the nabbed cadres,” BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said.
