There was furore in the Lok Sabha on Monday, as Congress and BJP members clashed over the issue of Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy not being invited for an event in the state which is to be attended by the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

The Congress alleged that the Prime Minister’s Constitutional position was being used for “political vendetta”, a charge which was denied by the Government. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi also said that the Prime Minister has insulted the people of Kerala by stopping the Chief Minister from going to a function.

The Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted during Question Hour as Congress members along with Trinamool MPs vociferously protested over Kerala Chief Minister reportedly being asked not to attend the function scheduled for December 15 in the state where the Prime Minister will be present.
