There is no bigger astounding fact than the news that the Congress party has suspended six rebel MPs of Seemandhra region. However, what turns astonishing is why the Congress Party High Command is still tight-lipped about its action against Kiran Kumar Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. So many speculations on this matter have been making the rounds that Kiran Kumar Reddy could not have dared speak against the Congress High Command without their own bear to do so. Going by the ongoing developments, it seems that the speculations are accurate. If we clearly look into all the developments that have taken place in the political circles ever since the Congress Working Committee has come out with their decision to grant separate statehood to Telangana on July 31 last year, Kiran Kumar Reddy has been openly criticizing the party high command. There were many such instances when speculations wavered around that Kiran Kumar Reddy would be sacked with immediate effect. However, never did such a thing occur. In addition to this, the Congress party in-charge of Andhra Pradesh state affairs, Digvijay Singh made his presence in the media to support Kiran Kumar, calling him a Congress party loyalist. What concerns much is why only six MPs have been suspended by the party and why not the chief minister. Clear analysis of this issue suggests that Congress party has either been playing a scripted play, in which Kiran Kumar Reddy played the lead role to perfection or the party High Command has been waiting for the appropriate time. If the latter is correct then what other time will be more appropriate than now? Let’s wait and see what’s up in the mind of the Congress High Command.
