#JayaVerdict: Money, Power Or Poor Investigation To Be Blamed?. Former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa has been cleared of corruption charges in disproportionate assets (DA) case by Karnataka high court in disproportionate assets case.

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa has been cleared of corruption charges in disproportionate assets (DA) case by Karnataka high court in disproportionate assets case. The development brings relief to her die-hard followers and sycophants alike who left no stone unturned in proving their loyalty towards her since she has been sentenced.

But here are some questions which prop up post second (after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan) high-profile acquittal in the last seven days.

READ BETWEEN THE LINES

Q1. Will AIADMK back NDA on Land Bill and GST now?

AIADMK seats in Lok Sabha = 37
AIADMK seats in Rajya Sabha = 11

Q2.Will we see over dozen draft laws including GST, Land Bill passing in the remaining 3 days of the budget session?

Q3.What will be Subramanian Swamy's, prime petitioner in the DA case, next step?

Q4.Will he arrive with some controversial expose now?

The other facet what comes up as a major talking point (has judiciary bowed against powerful elite in both the Salman and now Jaya case) is that if honorable High Courts (both Bombay and Karnataka) OVERRULED the earlier charges established by lower courts, shouldn't we look into technical loopholes left by the investigating officers during preliminary stages.

Q5.Why is it that, in both the cases, higher courts found investigation and setting up of charges, defective and inept?

Q6. Shouldn't we talk about the dreary approach of the investigating officers who deliberately or indeliberately missed out on important substantiation during inquiry phase that it becomes so easy for the skillful lawyers to detect a loophole with such an utmost ease?

But in Jaya's case, the lower court judge was John Michael D'Cunha, who originally pronounced the landmark sentence, has a wealth of experience in dealing with such cases.

The where does the fault lay embedded?
