Vijayawada: YSR Congress SC cell convenor N Suryaprakasa Rao here on Wednesday criticised the ruling Congress for neglecting the weaker sections welfare in the budget. Addressing a news conference, Suryaprakasa Rao said that the Congress had projected special allocations for the SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities in the budget but expressed fear that the funds might be diverted by the government as being done for all these years. He said that the funds shown in the budget for the neglected sections were not sufficient and there was no guarantee that the funds would be utilised for these sections. He took strong exception to the Telugu Desam legislator Mothkupalli Narasimhulu for targeting the YSR Congress in the Assembly during the budget presentation. He wondered how the TD leader had targeted the YSR Congress ignoring the ruling Congress which had presented the budget. He alleged that the TD had aligned with the Congress to save its Opposition status in the Assembly. The YSR Congress leader said that people in the State were watching the politics of the both Congress and the Telugu Desam and would teach them a lesson in the next elections. He said that the TD chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who was to be present in Assembly and speak for the neglected sections, did not attend the session with an intention to support the Congress. He pooh-poohed the TD chief's 'Vastunna Meekosam Yatra' and said that the TD leader was making a futile attempt to win over the people. He said that people were not so blind to trust Chandrababu Naidu and were not ready to take him seriously anymore.
