International Master Swayamsh Mishra of Air India won the inaugural Tetrasoft Fide-rating chess tournament, under the aegis of South Mumbai Chess Academy, at Arya Vysya Abyudaya Sangam here on Thursday.

Secunderabad: International Master Swayamsh Mishra of Air India won the inaugural Tetrasoft Fide-rating chess tournament, under the aegis of South Mumbai Chess Academy, at Arya Vysya Abyudaya Sangam here on Thursday.

In the final round, Mishra (8) drew with South Central Railway player Vikramjith Singh (8), who finished runner-up. The titlist was richer by Rs 75,000 in prize-money while Vikramjith received Rs 50,000 for his efforts. P Saravana Krishna from Karur Vysya Bank took home Rs 30,000 as the second runner-up.

Later, A Narasimha Reddy, President of Telangana State Chess Association (TSCA), gave away the prizes. Association Secretary, KS Prasad and Vice-President Major KA Shiva Prasad along with Tetra Soft personnel E Durga Prasad, Jayapal Reddy, Surender Nath Kandey and Vijay Kumar were present on the occasion.

Final Placing: 1. Swayamsh Mishra (Air India), 2. S Vikramjith Sing (SCR), 3. P Saravana Krishna (Karur Vysya Bank), 4. AL Muthaiah (TN), 5. K Rathanakaran (Southern Railway), 6. Sohan Phadke (Maharashtra), 7. Lokesh N (TN), 8. A Balkishan (Karnataka), 9. Kushagra Mohan (TS), 10. P Bharathkumar Reddy (TS).
