KCR’s Backup Plan On Power Issues In Telangana. K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, has formulated a backup plan to overcome the shortfall of electricity in the state.
Hyderabad: K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, has formulated a backup plan to overcome the shortfall of electricity in the state. He has decided to purchase 1000MW power from Chhattisgarh state. He is of the opinion to make not only short term agreements, but also long term agreements, reportedly.
KCR has held a meeting with Transco and CMO officials on the matter concerning the shortfall of electricity. He has passed necessary instructions to Transco Managing Director Rizvi to get electricity from Chhattisgarh as soon as possible. He also instructed to get tenders for linens and ordered to get 2000MW from Chhattisgarh for a period of 5 years. Further, KCR asked to be in touch with the authorities of Chhattisgarh to get the updates on the issue. KCR has been of the opinion that Chhattisgarh has the capability of supplying electricity to the state and it is the only state that could serve the power needs of Telangana. KCR is planning to call on the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh to hold discussions on the very matter.
