Navaratri celebrations end on a grand note, Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations concluded here on Saturday at the historic Bhadrakali temple following the performance of Kalyanotsavam and Pushpayagam during evening hours.

In the morning hours, the temple priests led by main priest Bhadrajkali Seshu performed Sharabha Vahana Seva followed by ‘Trishulasnanam’ for the temple deity in Bhadrakali tank situated near the temple.
Similarly, grand celebrations were held on Friday marking Vijayadasami, on which Samrajya Pattabhishekam and colourful Teppotsavam in Bhadrakali tank were held. The Teppotsavam, wherein the temple deity was taken on beautifully decorated swan shaped flotilla on the tank waters, was witnessed by thousands of devotees. All the through the day, thousands of devotees of all age groups thronged the temple to offer special prayers marking Dasara festival and spiritual fervour gripped the temple premises. Devotees waited in serpentine queues to have darshan of the deity Bhadrakali for several hours. Teppotsavam was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah and his wife Fatima, MPs Kadiam Srihari and Gundu Sudharani, MLAs Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Konda Surekha, Warangal urban Superintendent of Police (SP) A Venkateswar Rao, additional SP Yadaiah and others. The guests were welcomed by the temple executive officer K Anjani Devi, trustees M Narasimhulu, Ch Ramesh Babu, S Rajaram Mohan, R Balaram Rao, T Veeranna, T Sunil Kumar, T Rajamani and S Sudhakar. Meanwhile, ‘Ravanasura vadha’ was held at Rangaleela Maidan at Ursugutta on the outskirts of Warangal on Vijayadasami day under the aegis of Dasara Utsav Committee.
Thousands of devotees witnessed the event where a sixty feet idol of Ravanasura was erected and was burnt with the help of crackers worth about Rs 3 lakh. The event was also witnessed by Deputy CM Dr Rajaiah, MPs Srihari and Sudharani, MLA Surekha and urban SP Venkateswar Rao. A similar event was also held at Padmakshigutta under the aegis of Padmakshamma Temple Dasara Utsav Committee where Warangal (West) MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar took part as the chief guest.
