TS Legislative Affairs Minister loses his cool over TDP leader’s suggestion to elevate him to the post of CM for better administration
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) deputy floor leader Revanth Reddy's remarks to elevate Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish to the post of Chief Minister to save administration in the State did not go down well with the latter. In a strongly worded reaction, Harish warned Revanth not to make such statements lest there would be serious consequences.
Speaking to reporters in his chamber in Assembly lobbies soon after the Assembly was adjourned for the day on Wednesday, Harish said there was no place for such thoughts even in his dreams. “Chandrashekar Rao is not only my uncle but a father-figure. He gave me political life. I owe my posts and career to him,” Harish said.
Harish told Revanth to sing praises of his party president to go a step higher than the present deputy floor leader post but not dare to meddle with affairs of TRS. He felt a few coverts of Seemandhra parties were stooping very low to damage the image of the ruling party. Unable to digest the people-centric administration and populist schemes of the TRS government, they were resorting to such tactics to divert attention of the public, the Minister said.
“The TDP is better known as a betrayal party since Chandrababu Naidu backstabbed his own uncle to grab power. He even kept Junior NTR at bay worrying that the latter would outperform his son Lokesh in politics. The party's USP is Goebbels campaign and untruthful propaganda,” Harish charged.
According to Harish, these sorts of conspiracies do not work since TRS is known for its sacrifices in the last 13 years. “The thumping victory of TRS candidate in the recent Medak by-election despite entire Opposition going hammer and tongs at us proved that people are with the TRS,” he said.
