No increase in Maximum Age limit for Uniformed Services Andhra Pradesh government had issued orders in September 2014 on enhancing the maximum age limit for the state recruitment exam as TS plans on raising the age limit
Andhra Pradesh government had issued orders in September 2014 on enhancing the maximum age limit for the state recruitment exam as TS plans on raising the age limit while the retirement age in Telangana State of government employees is 58 years.
Although Andhra Pradesh soon after coming to power had raised the retirement age in June last year from 58 to 60 years, the TS government had refused to follow suit as the maximum age limit if increased for government recruitment exams to 40 years selected candidates in TS will be left with only 18 years of service. Nevertheless, reserved category candidates will get a relaxation of another five years.
However, the increase in maximum age limit will be applicable to only non-uniformed services as there will be no increase in the maximum age limit for uniformed services like excise, police, fire, forest departments, prisons, etc.
To make the newly-constituted Telangana State Public Service Commission fully functional from March, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has speeded up the process as he has given his nod to issue the TSPSC’s notification in the Rural Water Supply Department to fill over 150 engineer posts and the job notifications are soon to be issued by the TSPSC. The orders are to be expected to be issued by the government on increasing the maximum age limit to 40 years.
