Karimnagar: Telangana TDP senior leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for failing to prevent Maharashtra government from taking away 25 tmc water from Babli project. Speaking to mediapersons here, Dayakar Rao alleged that though Maharashtra government’s act of “looting” waters will turn the lands in Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts into deserts, KCR is least bothered.

The TDP leader took exception to the Chief Minister remaining tight-lipped which will only add to the woes of the farmers and people in Telangana region. “KCR should not heed to his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis with regard to the height of the project. Else, it will lead to our farm lands becoming deserts,” he bemoaned. The TDP will fight for the cause of the farmers as protection of their interests is paramount, he added.
