Harish Rao: Rs.100 crore for cleaning lakes in Hyderabad

Telangana Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao said that 169 lakes in GHMC are being planned to be developed in a phased manner and to beautify the Hyderabad city as a World Class city.

The Irrigation Minister said that the GHMC has allotted the budget of Rs. 100 crores and roped in modern equipment like Weed Harvesters which used in cleaning up of Ganga lake, Kashmir Lake with modern technology are being used.

The Minister inspected the Chinnarayuni Cheruvu where lot of hysinth and various types of plants which accumulated in huge quantities posing dangers to the residents and the GHMC launched the latest modernized technology “Weed Harvester” to remove them.

Harish Rao said. The Telangana Government undertaken steps to save 156 of the existing 169 and launched survey and boundaries for them have been fixed for the safety of the lakes and surroundings.
