The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is planning to organize its plenary scheduled on April 24 with a massive show of strength with 36,000 delegates from each of 10 district of Telangana.

The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed party men that the first plenary after the party assumed power in the newly-formed State, should be a memorable event and virtually Hyderabad could be transformed into “pink city”. The party’s think tank is planning to invite over 36,000 delegates with at least 300 of them from every Assembly constituency.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who is also the president of the party, will sit through the plenary from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the day at Lal Bahadur Stadium to hear what the party delegates have to say about the welfare and development schemes of the government and the 11-month rule of the party.

Election to the party president’s post would also be held during the plenary to re-elect KCR as its chief for the sixth term.

A massive public meeting at Parade Grounds on April 27 to show the “pink strength” by mobilizing about one lakh supporters each from 10 districts will be hall mark of the celebrations. Such a show of strength is expected to boost the morale of party’s ranks, particularly in and around Hyderabad in time for the GHMC polls. The focus is on reviving the party in view of the party’s average show in the recent Assembly/Lok Sabha elections and the recent set back suffered by the party in the Legislative Council elections.

With an eye on capturing ‘Baldiya’ (GHMC) in association with Majlis, the ruling TRS is planning to utilize the opportunity of plenary and public meeting to revitalize the party in and around Hyderabad. The strategy to increase the Municipal wards and divisions from the existing 150 to 200 is also aimed at that goal.
