Chief Minister’s convoy meets with an accident

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday laid foundation stones for various development works at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri near Bhongir town in Nalgonda district in the presence of Governor ESL Narsimhan, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and a few Ministers.


The Chief Minister unveiled the plaque of ‘Vimana Gopuram’. At the foot of the hill shrine, the Chief Minister unveiled another plaque at Thulasi Kota. Soon after coming to power, Chandrashekar Rao had announced that the government would convert Yadadri temple on par with that of Lord Venkatesawara Temple in Tirumala. Since then, the Chief Minister had focused attention on the designs and consulted Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and vasthu experts as well.

Later, the Chief Minister conducted a review meeting with the Temple Development Authority, Forest and Revenue officials. In the meeting, the Chief Minister enquired with the officials about land acquisition and other related subjects. He asked the temple committee to take immediate steps to develop the temple as planned. Chandrashekar Rao also asked them to complete the works expeditiously.


The officials made a power-point presentation on the development of the hill shrine in the Sangeet Bhavan. However, while the Telangana Chief Minister was on his way to Yadadri, his convoy met with an accident in Nalgonda district on Saturday morning.

As the Chief Minister’s convoy was proceeding towards Yadadri, a jeep belonging to the Penpahad police station rammed the convoy at Kondamadugu under Bibinagar mandal of Nalgonda district.

Two constables of rope party were injured in the incident. The injured constables were first taken to a private hospital in Uppal but later they were shifted to a corporate hospital for better treatment. They are said to be out of danger.
