Hyderabad: Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal on Tuesday said the byelections for the Warangal Lok Sabha and Narayankhed Assembly Constituency would be held before the completion of mandatory six months period.
Stating this during a press conference here on Tuesday, Bhanwar Lal said the byelections for the vacant seats of both Lok Sabha and State Assembly would have to be completed within six months from the date the vacancy arose.
As such, byelections for both Warangal LS by-poll as well as Narayanakhed would also be held on time.Responding to another question, the CEO said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had asked for information on the electorate of Local Bodies’ constituency for the Member of Legislative Council vacancies.
The information asked would be sent to the ECI in next couple of days, and then a decision would be taken by the Election Commission on the schedule of the conducting elections.
