Hyderabad: The Election Commission is making all out arrangements for smooth conduct of MLC polls. In this regard, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal on Thursday directed the Ranga Reddy Collector to make sure that the Model Code of Conduct was strictly implemented in the district from November 24, while the elections would be held on December 27.
He asked the Collectors to desist from taking any policy decisions during the implementation of model code. The CEO further directed the Collectors to submit a report on poll arrangements, polling officials and staff, police personnel for security and facilities to be taken up.
Bhanwar Lal also stated that the 12 segments going for polls should stop taking up any developmental programmes and laying of foundation stones. The election code must be implemented strictly. Special video teams at check-posts and mobile teams at mandals should be set up for the purpose, he said. The elections results will be announced on December 30, he informed.
