Hyderabad: The engineers working in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have accused the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department of altering the priority in the promotion list. “As many as 20 out of total 28 names in the list prepared to award promotion have been replaced in the Chief Minister’s Office,” a section of engineers alleged.

A senior civic body engineer told The Hans India that the GHMC chief engineer Imtiaz Ahmed had sent two lists; the first one contained the names of about 22 engineers and the second one has about 28 names. It is learnt that the engineers in the first list had been given promotions and the state government also issued a GO in November.

The engineers, who figured in the second list, would be posted to different places after being promoted. The list was sent to the Chief Minister Office for clearance. As many as 20 engineers in second list alleged that their names were replaced by some others in the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.

About 20 engineers had approached Administrative Tribunal alleging injustice. The Administrative Tribunal after hearing the arguments of engineers directed the State government to look into the matter and submit a complete report within two weeks. It also granted stay order pertaining to promotions of the engineers in the GHMC.
