Collector urges people to enroll, cast their votes without fail
In connection with the National Voters Day celebrations on January 25, District Collector Yogita Rana urged the officials to take steps to create awareness among people about importance of exercising their franchise.
Nizamabad: In connection with the National Voters Day celebrations on January 25, District Collector Yogita Rana urged the officials to take steps to create awareness among people about importance of exercising their franchise. Adults should cast their vote without fail, she added.
Addressing a review meeting at the Collectorate in the town on Saturday to highlight the importance of National Voters Day, the District collector said that in our country, National Voters Day was conducted on January 25 every year to enlighten the citizens about the importance of the right to vote. She said those Indians, on completion of 18 years of age, should enroll themselves as voters. They should utilise their vote without fail to strength democracy in the country, he added.
She said that the district administration should conduct a rally in the town and at mandal headquarters highlighting the importance of voting right on the National Voters day, which falls on Monday, the District Collector added.
In his speech, Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy said that on the occasion of National Voters Day the administration conducting the elocution and essay writing competitions for students. It would also conduct Rangoli competition for women at various polling booths at the time of enrolling the new voters. He said on the occasion of National voters day the young and the aged voters would be felicitated. Additional Joint Collector Rajaram and others were present.
