Hyderabad House has emerged as one of the cleanest buildings in the national capital.  This has been announced by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) as part of cleanliness assessment and rating exercise for government buildings and offices in New Delhi, carried out under the ambit of the Swachh Bharat  Mission (Urban). 

CLEANLINESS ASSESSMENT EXERCISE

New Delhi: Hyderabad House has emerged as one of the cleanest buildings in the national capital. This has been announced by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) as part of cleanliness assessment and rating exercise for government buildings and offices in New Delhi, carried out under the ambit of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).

Hyderabad House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, UPSC building, Jawahar Lal Nehru Bhavan and Vigyan Bhavan emerged as the cleanest among all government buildings in Delhi with a perfect score of 20. A similar rating exercise had been carried out in 2015 too.

The cleanliness survey was based on three distinct parameters: The sanitation infrastructure in the office (weightage – 40%), Overall cleanliness (weightage – 40%) and the mechanism employed for proper disposal of solid waste (weightage – 20%) Vithal Bhai Patel House, Western Court, Vayu Bhavan, New CAG Building, Vigyan Bhavan Annexe, National Museum, CAT Building, South block, Krishi Bhavan, Sena Bhavan, Niti Ayog, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Sardar Patel Bhavan, Janpath Bhavan, Central Vista, North Block, I P Bhavan, Nirman Bhavan, Udyog Bhavan, Transport Bhavan, 25 Akbar Road, Lok Nayak Bhavan, Shastri Bhavan, 7 Mansingh Road, Nirvachan Sadan, Jaipur House, Jamnagar House, Drum shaped building, Jaisalmer House, AGCR Building, are next in the results in that order. Notably, in the previous cleanliness assessment of government buildings conducted in July 2015, only Hyderabad House and Vigyan Bhavan had scored perfect marks on the assessment.

Nirvachan Sadan, the headquarters of the Election Commission of India, is at the bottom. As part of the drive, the MoUD had also asked all states to conduct a similar assessment exercise in the respective office buildings at the State headquarters and across all Urban Local Bodies, and announce the results through the local press.
