Hyderabad: After a gruelling six hour debate, the Telangana Assembly on Tuesday passed Telangana Appropriation Bill – 2016-17 by voice vote. State Finance minister E Rajendar introduced the bill in the House. While the main opposition Congress and TDP opposed the bill, the other opposition parties – CPI, CPI (M), AIMIM and YSR Congress parties made suggestions for the effective implementation of the schemes and proper utilisation of funds.
Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy said the government had failed to spend funds allocated under planned budget in the last two budgets. He suggested that the government ensure total utilisation of funds in the new financial year.
