Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday received a rare invitation from California Governor Edmond G Brown to participate in an international conference on ‘Climate Change’ to be held in San Francisco in June.
A delegation from California, led by Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Nisha Biswal called on IT Minister K T Rama Rao and extended the invitation for the event ‘Sub Continental Clean Energy Ministerial’ to deliberate on innovative plans by Clean Energy Department.
Brown appreciated Chandrashekar Rao’s initiatives of encouraging solar energy and others that are similar to the target of world nations to reduce global warming by 2 degrees Celsius by the end of 21st century.
The team also shared its view of doing business in potential sectors, skill development training and evinced keen interest in working together to face challenges like low rainfall and reduction in green cover.
Bishwal suggested to work with industry heads and offer skill development training and promised to work with T Hub in California along with I Hub. She also said the industry bigwigs in the US were appreciating the Telangana government’s initiatives to boost industries.
Rama Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other States gave a pat to the new industrial policy of the Telangana government which offered all permissions in just two weeks.
Chandrashekar Rao’s initiative of Haritha Haram programme to plant 120 crore saplings over five years was meant for massive afforestation that would ultimately extend green cover to above 33 per cent to root out drought by bringing rains, he said.
