Leader of Opposition in the TS Legislative Council Mohd. Ali Shabbir reacted strongly against BJP national president Amit Shah’s speech where the latter claimed that the central government gave Rs 95,000 crores to Telangana and Rs 1.70 lakh crores support to AP in the last two years.
Terming the claims as a bundle of lies, Shabbir Ali accused the BJP president of misleading the people of Telangana with wrong statistics adding that the latter has no moral right to speak on the state.
Addressing a press conference at the Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, the Congress leader alleged that the BJP-led NDA government did not fulfil any promise made in the AP Reorganisation Act. Mentioning the railway coach factory at Kazipet, 4,000 MW NTPC power plant, bifurcation of the High Court and revival of the Ramagundem fertilizer plant, Shabbir Ali said that the NDA government failed to do anything for the state.
He also said that Telangana has been ignored in all the Central schemes, Railway Budgets, NITI-Aayog, Smart Cities, Union Budgets and even in the distribution of drought relief. The Congress leader further demanded Amit Shah to disclose the details of the Rs 90,000 crore released by the Centre for the state.
