​Hyderabad: State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Wednesday directed Ghatkesar tahsildar to immediately eradicate stray dogs in the mandal and send a compliance report by June 30.
Taking up suo motu the death of a nine-year-old boy Charan due to a dog bite, the commission recommended for suitable compensation to the family members. He was seriously injured during an attack by a stray dog near his house on May 20. The boy succumbed to injuries on Wednesday.
The deceased boy was the son of Papaiah and Manisha, residents of Chenna Reddy enclave in Peerzadiguda Charan. Charan’s father is a daily wage worker and his mother is a gatekeeper at Chenna Reddy Enclave.
